What to Bring to Your  Consultation with Our Office

Your consultation with the Law Office of LaSheena M. Williams will be much more productive if we are provided certain documents. If you have a large number of documents, please make copies prior to your arrival, so we can spend the consultation time discussing your case, rather than making copies. If you do not have access to all of the documents, you can bring them to our office later.

If you Have a Divorce Matter:

  • Any pleadings that have been filed in the current case, or in any related case.
  • Any evidence such as pictures, tapes, recordings or other evidence that corroborates what you are alleging (such as adultery, domestic violence).
  • Tax returns, W2s, 1099s, and all documentation of income of you and your spouse for the past 3 years.
  • Recent statements for IRA, 401-K or other retirement and/or pension plans for you and your spouse.
  • Copies of any pre-nuptial agreements,  ante-nuptial agreements, custody agreements, support agreements, property agreements, and marital settlement agreements between you and your spouse
  • Any information relating to the marital home — mortgages, tax assessed value, appraisals, etc.

If You Have Any of the Following Domestic Matters: Child Custody, Access, Visitation, Child Support, Modification, Paternity, Contempt, and Enforcement, Domestic Violence

  • Any pleadings that have been filed in the current case, or in any related case.
  • Any evidence such as pictures, tapes, recordings or other evidence that corroborates what you are alleging (such as domestic violence or hidden financial resources).
  • Copies of any custody agreement or support agreement.
  • For modifications or contempt cases, it is important that you bring the order that you want to modify.
  • For contempt cases, any evidence that you have regarding whether the order is being followed.
  • Copies of your 5 most recent pay stubs.
  • Information regarding the opposing party’s income – including pay statements, bank statements, payments for contract work.
